How We Created Non-Dairy Gelato Pops
Want to learn more about how our amazing Research and Development team innovated our Gelato Pops? Keep reading for more insights from our Executive Vice President of Brand and Commercialization, Becky Julseth, about our product development process. Interestingly enough, our Non Dairy Gelato Pops didn’t actually start out with the perfectly rich and creamy coconut base it has today!
“Our team initially had an idea for a really creamy and craveable freezer pop, and we went through several rounds of experimentation to figure out how to achieve a texture like this without using dairy! It was surprisingly difficult. Our ultimate goal was to create a more ice-cream-like experience that evolved into a gelato because it felt like the right fit! It was then that our idea to use coconut milk came about. We really focused hard on dialing in the formula throughout most of 2022! Our food scientist team actually traveled to Italy twice in 2022 to specifically work on perfecting our gelato!”
When asked about how our new treats fit in with the rest of our DeeBee’s Organics standards, Becky shares that:
“We’re so proud to be able to provide this high-quality product while upholding both our always-organic and non-GMO standards. In fact, we also managed to create our Gelato Pops without using ANY sweetener (only fruit juice!), which is very, very difficult to do so deliciously. Our new treats fit right in with all the clean ingredients and nutrition we have always believed in. We hope you enjoy our new indulgent, non-dairy gelato pops this summer!”
