What Are Prebiotics?
You’ve probably heard of probiotics - good bacteria that support your digestive and immune systems. But have you heard of prebiotics? Prebiotics are a special type of dietary fiber that acts as food for probiotics. Unlike probiotics (which are live organisms), prebiotics are non-digestible fibers that travel to your gut and help the good bacteria grow happy and healthy.
Natural sources of prebiotics include:

- Chicory root
- Garlic and onions
- Bananas
- Jerusalem artichoke
Why Prebiotics Are Great For Kids

Cassava might not be on your weekly grocery list (yet!), but this humble root is a superhero in the world of clean, kid-friendly ingredients.⁴ It’s a root vegetable, similar to sweet potatoes or yams, that's naturally gluten-free, grain-free, nut-free, and rich in resistant starch. Which acts as—you guessed it—a prebiotic. Native to South America, cassava also goes by other names like yuca, manioc, mandioca, and tapioca.
We love cassava because:
